Throughout the project, significant thought has been given to the presentation of any final product. Initially, the investigator planned to exhibit the artwork images generated by the project in a physical gallery. This would include large-scale prints of the artwork images, and smaller booklets that would have been handed out. Additionally, the physical exhibition would have been used as an opportunity to raise funds for the UK charity ‘Mind’ – a non-profit that provides support to people suffering from mental health issues. However, due to the general challenges of the pandemic, and the restrictive nature of social distancing legislature, the investigator was forced to examine alternative mediums. Therefore, in this submission, a virtual exhibition theme is explored. The following headings are the various digital mediums the final output can be viewed in:
Full Images
These images can be viewed online, or printed up to A2 poster size.
Graph Images
These images can be viewed online, or printed as keyring accessories or large prints. They can also have a transparent background for further editing.
Video Galleries
These videos are all available on YouTube, or in high-bitrate uncompressed formats upon request. They are all 4k resolution, and are 30-60fps variable.
Virtual Exhibition
This is an online only format, which allows the viewer to see the gallery in a life-like format virtually. The viewer can walk around the gallery, inspect the images in closer detail, and play/pause the accompanying videos. Decent internet connection required. The full experience is available here.
EXTRA: Physical Presentation
Near the end of the module, the university announced its plans to go ahead with the in-person exhibition in July. Therefore, the investigator created physical media and material for in-person exhibition. Namely, large-scale “A3” prints of every full image. These prints will be displayed in the university gallery, along with individual plaques that provide more detail about the image and QR codes that link to each image’s corresponding video. Additionally, a fundraiser kit was received by the investigator, sent by the Mind charity. This kit included a branded t-shirt and an information booklet.
